AIRLIE BANK LANE

AIRLIE BANK LANE

This is a typical inner urban apartment project designed for a high value Melbourne suburb. The brief required three grand single floor apartments.  The site is an old tennis court only 16m wide overlooking a heritage listed garden at one end. The other three sides are surrounded by existing apartment buildings providing no outlook.

This narrow footprint created design issues that needed careful management to create access to views, sunlight and privacy for the occupants while retaining amenity and privacy for the neighbours.

The design is fully glazed from the principal living rooms fronting the garden side and layered through open terraces and screens made of stainless steel mesh to the north and west bedrooms.
